Vermont Interfaith Power & Light, a faith-based response to global warming, is helping spread the word about the bell-ringing campaign started by the Mountain Valley Climate Action node of 350Vermont.org.
In response to the climate emergency, and in global solidarity, on Friday, September 20, people all over the world will go on a Climate Strike—walking out of their schools, workplaces, and homes, and demanding that leaders respond to the climate emergency. The Climate Strike is youth led, and everyone is welcome and invited to join in.
As part of this day of action, congregations are encouraged to ring their bells at noon for at least 60 seconds—to ring out a warning about the need for urgent action to address the climate emergency. Please help spread the word about this in your congregation, encourage them to participate, and tell other congregations in your community and beyond about the bell ringing, urging them to also join in this action.
