Music is an important part of our worship experience. Hymn singing, choral anthems, solo instrumental, ensemble and band music provides us with the opportunity to be both introspective and challenged to outreach – to be moved to a deeper understanding of God and our Christian faith. Music is integrated into our weekly services in a variety of ways including volunteers of all ages from our congregation as well as professionals from the greater community.
The Chancel Choir has a regular role in our weekly worship services, and various instrumentalists and ensembles also contribute sounds from traditional sacred and classical to folk, jazz, popular, world music and modern to enhance our worship together.
The Chancel Choir sings during 10:00 a.m. Sunday worship services from September through mid-June including two services on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals are held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays and at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays from late August through early June.
The Hand Bell Choir rings during 10:00 a.m. worship once a month or as often as prepared, and at special services. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m. following Fellowship Hour, September through early June.
Church School Music for Pre-K through 6th grades is integrated into the classroom or collectively during Big Meeting at the end of each Church School day. The children learn the music of our faith tradition and present a song together in worship on one or two special dates throughout the year.
Instrumental Music. There are many opportunities for instrumentalists to play solos or small ensemble pieces during worship throughout the year. Contact Jessica Allen, Director of Music (firstname.lastname@example.org) for
